Father, thank you for the gift of this new day. I’m encouraged to think that at the dawn of creation when you crafted the very first sunrise, you saw this day and all the days to follow! When the morning sky first exploded in glory declaring your authority to the universe, all the days appointed for the Earth and even for me were written in your book before one of them came to pass. Thank you that the content of this day is already known to you and has been blessed by you.
I acknowledge that just as in the beginning, each day brings with it the promise of renewal and re-creation. Your Voice which spoke worlds into being still whispers across the dawn, “Behold, I make all things new!” Help me to embrace this day with fresh hope and assurance that there is no situation that you cannot re-create or restore, because all things are possible with you and you are sovereign. Thank you that your mercies are new every morning and that your eternal promises are unchanging, promises of peace and deliverance, for hope and a future.
Shower me with your love and wash away any fears I may have. Cleanse any impurity within me and refresh my mind with your truth. May any anxious thoughts I have evaporate like the morning dew as the light of your Son rises within me and shines upon me.
Guard my thoughts and my words. Before a word is on my tongue, you know it Lord. Please season my language with grace and love. Dress me with peace, wrap me in truth and shield me with your faithfulness. Help me to remember that every place where the soles of my feet tread have been given by you.
As I look at my reflection this morning, help me to remember that I reflect your glory and image to those in my life. Help me to to see through your eyes, hear with your ears and love with your heart.
Help me to take one day at a time and to embrace all that you have prepared for this day, to live in the moment and not to be anxious about tomorrow or what lies beyond. Help me to remember that there is a time and a season for everything and to rely on your timing and wisdom this day and always. In Jesus Name. Amen.
